Bjorn worked previously as an HR consultant and as a customer relationship manager at Glitnir-Bank's wealth management division. Bjorn founded and ran a marketing company called Birta for a few years, and prior to that he worked at Tryggingarmidstodin insurance company.

Björn has a degree in business from La Salle in the US and holds a masters degree in management psychology form Essex University in the UK.
