Guðlaug Björk Karlsdóttir

Guðlaug was a fund manager at Kaupthing’s Asset Management Company between 2002 and 2008. She started her career at Kaupthing as a fund manager for international stocks funds and proceeded to establishing and managing Kaupthing’s Real Estate fund of funds, followed by establishing and managing Kaupthings Money Market Funds. Along with her studies she worked in accounting for Deloitte, and was an assistant teacher at the University of Iceland.

Guðlaug graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Iceland in 2002 and is a chartered stock broker.

Guðlaug has always worked long hours so her family gets most of her free time as she is the mother of two wonderful toddlers; Karl Ísak and Sigrún María. Her interest in gardening has however grown since she overcame her phobia for insects, and she increasingly enjoys having relaxing moments around the flowerbeds. Sports and workouts have always been a part of her life, and she loves throwing all types of parties for friends and family.
