Svala has a diploma as a certified bookkeeper.
Although she has been way too busy to attend to hobbies for the past years, she makes an effort to spend time with her family, particularly her precious grandsons Bjartur and Skírnir. Mountain hiking and other outdoor activities rank at the top of her list of favorite hobbies, but she also enjoys reading a good novel and traveling abroad to get to know different cultures.
