Dispite his young age Baldur Mar is quite experienced in the financial sector. He began his career at IslansbankFBA in 2000 where he worked as an analyst of investment opportunities in inventive companies. After working in the business development department of the same bank for a few years, he moved to working on the bank’s first leveraged financing projects in Northern Europe and creating business networks with international banks. In the summer of 2005 he moved with his family to Copenhagen, Denmark to work for Glitnir bank in investments in Northern Europe. Baldur enjoyed living abroad very much so the family decided to move all the way to NY, when at the beginning of 2008 he started working for Glitnir bank in the US and Canada where he focused on investments in fishing and geothermal energy.

Baldur is a mechanical and industrial engineer and a certified stockbroker. He graduated from the University of Iceland.

Baldur has been on the boards of several Scandinavian companies.

Baldur is a great athlete. He is a former member of the Icelandic national swimming team; he runs marathons, is a great cyclist and is now trying to mix these together by competing in triathlon events. He travels a great deal with his wife and two children, Halla Margret and Kari Bjorn and he never forgets his camera.
