Prior to joining Audur Gerður was a project manager for pension plans at SPRON-savings bank. She joined SPRON in 2001 and served in various roles as an insurance and pension plan specialist and sales manager. Previously Gerður had worked in accounting, human resource management, and retail.

Gerður completed a diploma in business and operations in June 2009. She has attended various courses in management and human resource development, as well as in the field of insurance and pension savings.

Gerður loves to travel. She was brought up in a picturesque valley in the north of Iceland and frequently enjoys spending time surrounded by beautiful nature, but feels equally comfortable in her home listening to music and enjoying the company of her teenage son Kjartan.
