Social responsibility

we at Audur believe that all companies should act responsibly.  In our mind social responsibility takes into account all our decisions, actions and communications. 

Being socially responsible to us means being honest and transparent in all business decisions and actions. We emphasize applying a win-win approach and treating all stakeholders, including employees, clients and collaborators, with respect.  Compliance with laws and regulations as well as integrity and ethical behavior are key factors in our business. 

We appreciate that the company is a part of a larger entity composed of the society, the environment, human resources and natural resources.  In order to obtain long term success these resources should be treated with care and respect so future generations can also enjoy their benefits. 

Our aim is to positively influence governance procedures and increase awareness of the importance being socially and environmentally responsible, both through our own behavior and by influencing that of others through our investment strategies. 

In our investments we adapt a socially responsible investment strategy and through our private equity investments we directly influence the companies we invest in to increase their level of social and environmental responsibility. 

We reject the view that companies should choose between financial results and responsible behavior.  We are convinced that by emphasizing both we will achieve the best long term results.

Philanthropy

Corporate philanthropy is a part of our social responsibility policy. 

We firmly believe that we can all make a difference.  Building a better society is an important task and Audur would like to assist those who make it their business to improve the world. 

Audur is the founder of two philanthropic projects; Women'sWealth at Work and Audur's Good Days Work. 

A Good Day's Work is a social project run by Audur's employees.  It has two components: 1) Audur's employees donate one day´s salary each year to a worthy cause. 2) All of Audur's employees participate in a day of volunteer work each year.  

Women's Wealth at Work   is a fund created to assist women, particularly in developing countries, to improve society and create jobs.  Audur has committed  1% of the company´s annual profits to WWW and invites its clients to donate to the fund.  Women's World Wealth is a non profit organization and is governed by a three member board that consist of Guðrún Pétursdóttir, Chairman, Guðfinna Bjarnadóttir and Halla Tómasdóttir.
